This is my first post and I realy need some help flashinf my drive. this is also my 1st drive flash. im not too fimaliar with all of this stuff but for the last 7 days ive read and watched every thing i can find.

i am flashing a ms25 drive. i bought the 369 used from gamestop around 1 year ago. i have read all of pks sugestions, textbooks, videos etc.

new dell computer with intell mobo and sata mobo no pci card.
when i atach my ms25 drive to pc and turn on xbox and turn on pc then go into bios i CAN see the drive on any sata port i attach it to "ive done them all.

i have the latest firmware, iprep updates etc. i have no idea what hex editing is or how to do it. i did make a bootable usb flashdrive that does work to boot into dos on startup.

useing idump 7dig 5dig samtool start fast the aborts and says no drive detected and also no xxxxxx/xxxxx/orig.bin file

my skills are not the greatest but i can folloe instructions i have 2 gaming sons that are 7 and 6 yrs old and all we do is play the box together so it is important not to mess it up. as of now it is still working despite everything ive done to it. ps. i have No burnt backups so i dont now if it is running flashed firmware now but when i took it apart the warrenty sticker looked intact and it wont play halo 1.

first get a via pci sata card it is by far the easiest way to get the computer to see your 360.

for me it would only find the drive if it was in SATA port 1. try both the ports on each end. if that doesnt work then try getting a VIA PCI SATA card like cofree mentioned. btw make sure when you get your original firmware to go into windows and use FWtoolbox to take the drive key and put it into the hacked firmware. i didnt do that and now i have to waste a DL DVD to make a 0800 enable disc

when you use iprep it will dump the orig firmware and build the hacked firmware(samtool).it puts your key in the hacked firmware there is know need to use toolbox.

when you flash a v25 drive it will ask you to spoof the drive to a v28 say YES

is it weired that my computer CAN see the drive on ANY sata port on my mobo but when i use idump it says no drive found and no orig.bin file..

reading the latest tut by text. idmup and iflash are the only commands but wathing the vide useing xtremr boot maker you use more commands and select your drive in dos that is what i dont understand. I WILL BUY A VIA CARD today they are not expensive. does i prep do all of this for you?

Do I have to do any key patching using iprep I did not think i did.

That is what i Thought so i all have to do is dump and flash?

Also is it weird that in my bios i can see the xbox drive but when I idump I get no drive found? do you no why this is.

i have tryed to idump at least 50 times tryed all sata ports and power cyceling at diffrent times hot plugging the xbox drive and i keep getting

No drive found and no orig.bin file "does this mean that iprep cant find my drive

then i guess my drive hates the 1.2C firmware because even with a firmware with the drive key manually entered it still didnt work. it only worked when i used the 3.3 firmware (ive read a few places that the MS25s in referb machines dont like the ms28 firmware and need an ms25 one)
