ok if you have the X3 chip then you should just stick the hard drive into your xbox and format it using the bios. but before you do this make sure you have ftp'd into your xbox with the old hard drive installed, and back up partitions c:\ and e:\ onto your pc. when you have done that install the new hard drive with the jumper set to cable select and go into disk setting on the bios. select new hard drive set up and select format new hard drive, then just follow the steps.
