Does anyone knows what is the purpose of patching the xbe files or the iso image using Craxtion or Qwix?

Patching?
Well, if you mean changing the name.
It patches it so, when its on your xbox is shows a new title.
EX: i download a game from xbins, the default title of the default.xbe is Game, so in the games menu on the xbox it will say Game, as the title, but you could make it say klesjhlkJ for all i care..
But if you mean uploading, its so you can send an XBOX Iso, from your PC, to your Xbox, via FTP, or you can burn an xbox iso to a dvd and play it...

The patching option in Craxtion or Qwix is to enable you to play newer games from the HDD. It's a media flag patch.
