505 Games has released a couple of trailers for the upcoming Payday 2 out later this month and feature Overkill's David Goldfarb detailing the skill progression system and the Safehouse area for would-be players to store and show off their ill-gotten gains. The skills trailer explains how you can pick skills to direct your energies into one of four archetypes to compliment your team of villains; The Mastermind, who is responsible for crowd control, leadership and healing your squad. Then, there's the Enforcer who acts as the powerhouse of the team, able to drop ammo and take a little bit more punishment. As the name suggests, The Technician is responsible for your gadgets such as tripmines and drills, and the Ghost who's style will benefit stealthy, sneaky players.
Being successful on missions will grant you skill points, which can then be used to progress through any of the skill trees you choose, allowing you to eventually build the career criminal that best suits your playstyle.

The second trailer focuses on the Safehouse - a location where you can return with your loot and show it off, as well as acting as a training area to allow you to play with any new toys, techniques and weapons you'll acquire through the course of the game. You'll also be able to spend any money gained from successful heists and spend it on customising your house to show it off to fellow career criminals in a Pimp-My-Safehouse style.

I'm quite looking forward to Payday 2 when it drops later this month myself, although I'm probably going to plan ahead before inviting Aoife over to the safehouse. Look what happened when she tried to rob a bank in her most recent hands-on of the game.
