just uninstall it in add/remove programs in the control panel. but this only removes the icons from the desktop and the programs menu... There is no real way to uninstall Internet Explorer. So unless you can find a way, your stuck with it.
damn i got some wicked spam too i even moved to firefox long ago but some still came in somehow and infected IE to randomly popup drive me crazy

i meant that I got INFECTED with some wicked spam
wich is what i meant to say sry bout that i hate spam just as much as the next person and the last thing id wanna do is give it to more people

well for as long as you dont use Internet Explorer you shouldnt have any worries. Also just get a pop up blocker from somewhere like www.download.com. Internet Explorer is rubbish, it does anything its told to do by any website... thats why you get loads of toolbars install themselves because it will install any .exe that its told to. Its not very secure and its far too simple. You did the right thing about installing Mozilla as its much more controlled and secure... I think you get the point.

->Open the sysoc.inf file in Notepad or another plain text editor. If you can't find the inf directory, it's probably hidden. Unhide it.
1. Click Tools and choose Folder Options.
2. Under View, enable Show Hidden Files & Folders.
-> In sysoc.inf, look for the section called "components" in XP or "old base components" in 2000. What looks like a bunch of gibberish is actually pretty easy to read. You'll see a component name, followed by an equals sign, followed by a list of parameters separated by commas.
For example: Games=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,games.inf,HIDE,7
->The deal: the "HIDE" between the two last commas indicates a hidden component. Remove "HIDE" to unhide the component.
For example: Games=ocgen.dll,OcEntry,games.inf,,7
-> Unhide any component you want.
-> Save the file.
-> Reopen the Windows Component Wizard to see your new Add/Remove options!

Adaware is a great spyware remover, pop up blocker and protects systme files from getting moddified by spam. What I do is install Adaware 6.xx then spybot search and destroy also google toolbar and yahoo toolbar both running together plus adaware's ad-watch havent experienced any pop ups of spyware infections since i started using it. Oh yeah and on top of that the Internet Explorers pop up blocker that is built in. I have attached an image of it
In Windows XP its impossible to remove IE because it is so tightly integrated from the shell. If you remove it through add/remove windows compoenets, you are just removing shortcuts really - you can still access it through the run command (iexplore) or by browsing to it. If you don't want to use it, use Mozilla. If you want to get rid of spyware/adware - go to www.downloads.com and download adaware/spybot/spysweeper install and update them then run them. yea ive done all those things before now and such but somehow its infected notepad and if something open notepad and whatnot then all that spyware that wasnt running but is hiding in there comes up, but once i backup my important files n such im planning on reformatting thanks for the help though
