LITEON DG-16D4S - SLIM phat drive slim xbox

As title says, what steps do i have to do, so as to use
a phat dvd drive on a slim xbox?
Box will be RGH'ed when it arrives.(coolrunner waiting) lol
will i need orig dump from slim mobo's dvd drive?

i do believe that you would manual spoof the drive key and use what ever fw the phat drive requires, please correct me if i am wrong

And make sure nand is nofcrt patched.

In the case of a spelling error, I blame Tapatalk.

the drive enclosure will have to be modified .the legs of drive have to removed,the top metal cover has to be cut also and if using benq drive pcb snipped a bit .

Not looking for drive to fit into slim cage, looking for it just to be my project box.
Drive will just be for xbox testing.
I've got some liteon/benq drives laying about, just thought id use 1 of them save forking
out on a slim drive.

some of the posts i've read say stuff about serial data ect ect.
so i'm a little confused.
If the box is RGH'ed then apart from the drive key, it should work and not need
all the serial/barcode info?

system will be running FSD, just as soon as it arrives.(bought from a member on here iave9504)

No FCRT patch removes the need to have the serial info, but the drive key still needs to be matched. Key is easily obtained/changed in NAND dump.

i also am looking at doing the same. so i can put ANY phat drive in a slim with a little modification? or does it have to be a lite on that goes back in?

any drive, I found hitachis were easiest to modify to fir it, you can use slim drive trays in the liteons and bengs though.

manual spoof the drive with the slim key but flash the phat drives firmware.

ie

Hitachi 47 would be with hitachi 47 LT+ just with the slim key

and of cause patch the nand.

nice dollop of super glue to stick the bezel on

use fusion and pair drive works perfect on phats....
you will need a longer dvd power cable///]
i cut off legs and tab off benq and fits in cage pretty good...had to cut down dvd face plate to fit...
