Hi all,

I want to update my brothers xbox to LT 1.9 and was wondering what the best steps are. Currently (I think) its on IX LT and I have all the dumps from when I flashed it from the start (I have done it twice) and it didn't need a probe as you can dump it from the sata (thankfully)!

I have the dummy.bin and Lite_CFW.bin from the last time and will need to update to dashboard 13599 before flashing to LT 1.9 so I figure that the best course of action, (as I have done in the past with my Benq and Sammy drives) would be to return it to stock, update and then flash to 1.9.

My question is will the FW of the drive be changed because of the dashboard update (it is mentioned in the JF tutorial) and if so can I still do this flash with just my USBPRO over a sata using JF?

I do have a probe (a CK3 lite kit) for when I flashed a friends Lite On but it was a serial connection version and I don't 'think' it will work with the USBPRO (correct me if I am wrong) plus I no longer have a desktop PC with a serial connection.

So I guess I am wondering what the best plan of attack will be and if I will need to buy a better / different probe to do this? Or, once I have updated the dashboard, I can still just flash using the USBPRO only.

Many thanks for any help / advise!

if you have the dummy.bin, that contains the key and that is all you need

load dummy.bin as source, load 1.91 as target, spoof to target, erase, write

When during this process above do I update the dashboard though (as what you have wrote is is the bit I know how to do)? :) I thought that it was not wise to update the dash when the drive has CFW installed and its safer to return to stock, THEN update the dashboard before flashing to up LT 1.91. The reason I ask is because I thought that dashboard 13599 will change a LiteOn's FW anyway in which case it meant starting again to re-flash it back to a CFW (in this case 1.91).

I may have the wrong end of the stick but I wanted to be sure before I tried it out! For my BenQ and Sammy MS28 I just flashed to stock, installed dashboard 13599 then flashed to LT 1.91.

flashing to stock for updates is always a good idea, you are correct

if you are on pre-13146, set pre-13146 OFW as your target and flash, then update your dash to latest dash 13599

after that, just put v1.91 as you target and flash

Ok, so no need to use the probe again as it all can be done through USBPRO and JF then? That's good news that I don't need to buy anything else. Thanks for your help :)
