LITEON 74850 PhatKey failed (Tryed almost everything)

At this point I want to apologize for my bad english :)

Yesterday I tryed to readout the Key of my LiteOn. Every time it says "PhatKey failed". I've tried many different ways to probe it. I've read hundreds :))) of posts about that problem, but nothing is working.

I am using a CK3 mini to power the drive and the Probe3.
The drive is attached via SATA-Cable directly to my motherboard (AsRock).
I used the Molex-to-USB cable to connect the CK3 mini to my computer (Windows 7).

Maybe the SATA-chip isn't compatible?
I have no idea.
I attached a picture of the build I'm using, a screenshot of jungleflasher and the jg-log-file.

This is just one way, how I tried to read out the key:
Turn on drive (drive is identified)
Push “PhatKey”
Click yes
Turn off drive
Probe
Turn on drive
Remove probe
After the message turn off drive
Wait 5-8 secs
Turn on drive
Wait 5-8 secs
Click yes

This method I used the on/off switch.
But there is also a Eject-Button. When I push it it stays down and when I push it again it comes up.

With this button I've also tried many ways to probe but no result.

The first attempt in the log-file is with the on/off switch and the second with the eject-button.

I'm hoping somebody knows how to solve my problem.

EDIT: I tried to read out the key also in another computer with the same result...

Hit Phatkey
Then Hit Yes without turning off the drive !!!
Hold The Push button on probe 3 ! Probe MP.. (release to probe) Then push the button of probe 3 agian to release ! i only switch off the drive when i have to use liteon erase !but remember before you use liteon erase important to save the drive key

Thanks for your fast replys. My Probe is a bit different: It hasn't a on/off switch... Only the CK3 mini has a on/off switch to power off the drive.
Maybe I have not the right one? That wouldn't be great.

Mine looks exactly the same except for the button. But I will look for that cable, it doesn't seem to be expensive.

The thing is, that on the online-shop I've bought the probe, the probe is described with "Probe 3".
And the cable is also a conversion cable, just ,how we figured out, without any switch.

Is there a way of putting this switch manually between the cable? Because the cable costs here in switzerland around 18-20$..

EDIT: The switch on the conversion cable is only for cutting the signal? Can't I just plug the cable out of the Probe, probe the point, and then plug it in again? I will try this first

did you look at thread i linked ...shows where to put a switch in the correct wire

the conversion cable should have switch ..about 2 inches from the probe end, going by the link that Blakey gave you
how about posting a pic of your probe and cable or even to the online shop that you bought it from

wrong switch ...thats old news it gets soldered to the pcb of the drive to do MRA
you need Probe 3 ( or the conversion cable) like Blakey linked here 6

Thank you guys, I soldered a switch between the conversion cable and finally I got the Key!!

Which Firmware should I flash to? iXtreme LT+ 3.0 ?
I have a folder with Firmwares but I don't know which one to take for my drive.

I've attached a Screenshot of jungleflasher.

EDIT: I've flashed it, but when I hit "Outro/ATA Reset" it stucks on "Drive is Lite-On..." is that normal?

Looking at your screenshot you must be on pre 13146 dash as it shows old f/w on your liteon. My advice is flash it back to stock, update dashboard to the latest one and flash your drive with lt+3.0. If you plan to rgh your xbox then get your cpu key first (before updating).

What dash is your console on..did you autoload the lt firmware
If your dash is above 13146 you have put on the wrong firmware..you have lt1.1 not lt 3
Lol beaten by that much :)

Thank you guys very much! I've taken the 0251-v3.0 Firmware and it worked. And the dashboard updated itself.

Everything is working now.
This is a great forum, I will definitely recommend it.

So you decided to not do this:


My advice is flash it back to stock, update dashboard to the latest one and flash your drive with lt+3.0
