VIA and NForce chipsets are confirmed to to be able to dump/flash the BenQ using DosFlash 1.3 with no soldering needed. :)

come on man read bigd23 post.he says "with no soldering needed." you dont have to cut any anything.
its a beta at this time so if you dont know how then you would be pushing your luck to mess with it.

There is no tutorial yet, I'm working on one but Schtrom's ReadMe.txt file which is included explains everything very well. Read and understand the ReadMe file several times before attempting! DosFlash 1.3 is available to the public on Xbins but as cofree said it's still a BETA. I dumped my BenQ in DOS manual mode (that will make sense once you read the ReadMe file) using my VIA 6421 card this morning with no problems. :)

One thing that I would add to Schtrom's ReadMe file, he mentions using msinfo32 to get the port address needed for DosFlash. Another easy way is to use iPrep and detect your SATA card...see the picture below:

Yes, please come out with a tutorial soon, I have been trying to read the firmware off this BenQ drive for about 2 hours now and I have gotten nowhere. I have the VIA 6421 card.

ShaX even though you have a VIA 6421 card it may be your motherboard that it causing the problem. Schtrom thinks there may be something BIOS related that causes differences in the 6421's behavior from computer to computer. There was one user in IRC chat yesterday who tried every method with his VIA 6421 for almost 8 hours with no success. He moved the same 6421 card to a different computer (with an Intel chipset I believe) and it worked on his first try.

I have :

- VIA 6421 card
- MSI 945GM3 Mother-board
- MS-7267 (V3.X) Main-board
- Intel 945G Express Chipset Based
- Intel Core 2 Duo

I have tried to get the firmware off my BenQ for many hours, if anyone can tell me if my hardware will work with this or not that would be great.

However if my hardware will not work, can somebody please give me the Exact name of a good motherboard that will work.
Thanks.
