picked up a faulty slim mobo.just for the fun of it tbh.

anyway it turns up.for sure it's a failed cr install.

fixed the stby clk.plus fixed the Cpu Rst as of this http://www.team-xecuter.com/forums/showthread.php?t=76145 plus the post out has gone.

good thing looks like they didnt wire anything up to dump the nand.which i got 5 dumps of now.

my prob is,it powers up but after 5 seconds or so it gives me a red light.the fan still runs.and the power brick stays green.

any of you gurus got any idea..:biggrin:

im assuming you havnt got a coolrunner connected? and also are you posative it hasnt been installed with a cr and nands not been played with? if so first thing you should do is post a pic of all the points as this will help clarifying the problem. if you had a coolrunner installed i would change where the CPU_RST wire is positioned..

but seriously first post should always have images included

there no coolrunner installed.it a mobo i picked up as faulty.

heres a pic of the nand dump from 360flashdump tool.

the stby clk.and the cpu rst are fixed i tested with a meter.but i up pics of my fix as soon as i can.:wink:

thermal paste i put new on.one thing i did notice is one of the bolt thing that you put the xclamp to was not as close to the heatsink as it should of been.

Try and apply a light amount of pressure to the heatsink when booting. This is just to eliminate these variables. Personally I would hope its as simple as the heat sink not fitting tight! If not then we will have to see the repair work and also hope there isnt more damage elsewhere.

man it sucks that you cant see the error code on slims but make sure that since its a bad install of a CR you better make sure there are no missing components on the board

you can check the secondary error code on slims just as if it was a phat.. hold down sync and press eject button the ROL will light up just like a phat model 360. if u get 0032 then your cpu rst line is not repaired correctly.

I remember seeing a really good trace repair tut, may have been one of Martins but i'm not sure. It involved putting tape over the traces that weren't being repaired just leaving the one to be repaired exposed. I'm hunting for it frantically at the moment :D
