@ Junkman2 & FoxRacR17:

Any chance you could post some more pics of your install? Some top-down and from the back shots so I can get an idea of how much I'm gonna have to cut to install mine please :)

<sucking up>
BTW they both look great

Nice to see someone using my sharkoon cold cathode suggestion ^^
it shows how bright the cold cathode really is, the ones i took with my webcam made it look like a sun, rofl.

Great work though :)

Hey Junkman...That is the best salvage job I have ever seen.... Well done! You have to admit that it looks slighly better than the original attempt.. Trial and error,,,,only way to do it - others take note

Top banana!

Far from here!
Thanks tonylott! The first wasnt a first attempt lol. It was still in the process of being done. I was trying to decide if I wanted it flush or not. But thanks for all the comments.

drhunter: I will post some more of the cuts I had to make.

Thanks, I did mine last night - pictures on xbox scene!
I'd still be interested in seeing how you fit yours though as mine's sitting a bit high at the moment :)

Hitachi not being detected in JF???

Ive been flashing all types of drives for the past two years. I have done my fair share of Hitachi's but none of them have ever given me a problem like this.

So basically what happens is I start up jungleflasher, no matter what I do the hitachi wont be detected. Neither in the left slot or right slot. I have tried opening with tray half open, no go. However, I can get the drive into mode b and the JF will then recognize the drive, I know it does because when it goes into mode b it says that it found the drive on the log

But still the drive doesnt show up for selection. So what is my next best option here, ive never had to try this hard to get one detected going on six hours

Re: Hitachi not being detected in JF???

sometimes computers are picky about detecting hitachi drives in mode b

instead of restarting your computer, try either sending the mode b command again or going into the device manager in windows and search for devices (windows should find and install the drive)

then you should be able to see it in windows and JF

Are you using a via sata card?
If you are, use your onboard SATA ports (primary preferred) as this has solved most people Hitachi problems.

Re: Hitachi not being detected in JF???

I had the same problem on a hitachi 47dj. I'd managed to flash the drive without any problems, but after a few days realized that I didn't save my firmware. So When I tried to retrieve my dvdkey off the drive, it simply wouldn't find the drive. Closest I ever got was windows detecting a new drive but was always unable to install drivers for it. Still a mystery to this day.

Hitachis are different, use your onboard SATA.
