when i was soldering the pin header a big glob accentdently came off and made three of the pins become soldered toghter, but the solder doesnt touch any of the copper circles on the motherboard, you think it will still work like that cause i will avoid desoldering if it i can because we all know its a pain

How are you trying to desolder? It should be really easy to pick up some solder splash using a desoldering braid. Just lay the braid over the solder you want to get rid of, and touch it with the iron, then remove the iron and the braid together. You will be able to see the braid change color as it sucks up the solder.

A solder sucker works better in this situation.

You guys are lucky. You have soldering braids. My Radio Shack doesn't have anything. The way I desolder is.. I don't. I try not to make mistakes. Its funny what a person will do when he is on a mission. He will try anything to get the job done.

ok so here it is: you have three pins soldered together; lets say in this situation:

pin1 = 12v
pin2 = 5v
pin3 = ground

guess what? you've created a short circuit. all the voltage and current throughout those circuits will go straight to ground. POOF!!!! smoke flames, bad things, mate.

You can always use a length of unsheathed braided wire. A little messier but still works fine.
