Pin header question (X2.3b to X2.6)

My son ripped the X2.3b switch off of my old v1.0 Xbox because he wanted the pretty blue light. I looked around & couldn't find anyone selling the old switches, so I bought an X2.6.

I installed the X2.6 on the old 12-pin header, and it works, although I haven't soldered the LAN and HD wires because I wanted to get it running again quickly. Am I missing any functionality by not having the additional 4 pins from the new header (I'm assuming that the LAN and HD LEDs won't work without them)?

Thanks!

Martin,

Thanks for the quick response & info. I went ahead and soldered the LAN and HD wires after my kids went to bed & everything's working great. I re-routed the switch panel to the back of the Xbox so it's not quite as tempting as it was before ;)

I installed an X3 and control panel/LCD on my green Halo Xbox about a month ago for XBMC. I don't think I'll be upgrading the kids' Xbox to an X3 because they only play games on it.

I need to hotswap my x2.6ce. My friend has a x2.3b pro. Will this work on the hot swap and any other instruction. Thanks
