you won't notice the difference.. my friend uses 1.03
i use 1.23 and they both work good

most firmware from what ive read is to help the dvd drive recognise more blank media and to help the drive to burn the media better at the speeds the drive says it can burn.

it did make a difference on my 109 but didnt do fook all on my 111 dde so its left with ya pal
