Read the thread in total - he had a JTAG console which he took the dummy.bin from and then applied it to his new drive without dumping the key first.

In short - mullered until they manage to glitch 6752

That's not entirely correct. The console had LT1.1 on it BEFORE i tried to jtag it, so I have the dummy.bin files from that. It never made it to the jtag stage as i shorted something out. It was sent to MS for repair and when I got it back they had updated the dash to 8995 (i think) but the drive was left flashed at LT1.1

Does it play movies? Does it say play DVD instantly or does it take a while? You might get lucky and just need a new laser for $10.

Ok - I've just given the lowdown to the guy, who's happens to be a very sound chap and has fallen foul of assumption

As stated, there's nothing more which can be done for now as there's no 6752 hack as yet.

Fingers crossed there's one soon!

Hopefully they'll sort CB_B 6752 soon. Last I heard is that it might need to be dealt with in the same way as a slim.
