I know we won't really know whether you can play copies (or originals) until LT 2+ comes out. However, in the meantime what do most people think. I have Benq spoofed as Hit 79 with LT1.1+)

Thanks

Just to be clear though I am using a Benq, having flashed that with extracted Hit key. When you say go back to the Benq did you think I was currently using the Hit?

Truth is I would dearly love to keep my Benq in the console and not have to go back to using the crappy Hit 79!

(I did save bin file, key etc for Hit)

Hi again

This biggest headache I have is that there seems to be at least four possible methods to flash spoofed drive with LT 1.92 or 2.0 (Benq flashed as Hit 79)
 •
Restore Hit 79 to stock, instal update, then
reflash with LT+ for Hit, then put Benq back in console and hey presto
Restore Benq to stock, instal update then flash with 1.9 for Benq
Restore Benq to stock, instal update then flash Benq with 1.92 for Hit (that's the weird one)
 • Restore Hit to stock, instal update then reflash with 1.92 for Benq

Apols. Something obviously went wrong with the bullets!!

 1. Put Hit in console, flash back to stock, install update, then reflash Hit with LT2, then put BENQ back in console and hey presto
 2. Leave Benq in console, flash that back to stock, install update and reflash Benq with LT+
 3. Leave Benq in console, flash back to stock, install update, then reflash Benq with LT2.0 for Hit (that's the weird one!)
 4. Put Hit in console flash back to stock, install update, then replace with Benq and reflash with LT2.0 for Benq
Do I reaaly I have to try each of these in a sort of hit and miss fashion?

Apologies again.

if you update with the benq in the console stock or not the update will most likely fail. you should go back to your hitachi. i feel they are no worse than any other drive if they have a good lens in and always stick with verbs for them. benq and liteon drives burn out the lenses regularly so are no better just easier to flash IMO.
i'm sure you could do your update with the hitachi in and then just spoof 1.9 into the benq again and be fine for offline play, however this may not play ap2.5 as the wrong response will be given by the drive and if that happens you will have an ap2.5 challenge failed flag on the console which will turn into a ban if the console is ever connected to live again.
the osig of the drive is checked during the update so if your benq is in there the update will see this and fail so you must update the console with a hitachi drive in there.

Many thanks for helpful and detailed responses.

I guess I'll opt to put the Hit back in (having restored to stock), update and then reflash Benq with LT1.9/2.0.

If I reflash my Benq with LT2.0 in this way do you think my XGD3 copies will work?

Thanks again

Sorry should have said that I don't use Live so not concerned with flag status.

Probably not because LT+ CFW doesn't support SPOOFING :eek2:

Check out http://c4evaspeaks.com/ it says Hit 78/79 will get LT+2.0

Oh dear. I was trying to avoid this issue about LT= not supporting spoofing blah blah blah...

How come I'm able to use LT+1.1 on my Benq? (spoofed as Hit 79) The point was that many folk have got 1.92 to work on spoofed drives but the method seems to vary greatly. I'm just not sure about XGD3 in the equation.

I genuinly think the comment about not supporting spoofing is related to XBL and that doesn't worry me one iota.
