I have not pick up my switch for a very long time and out of touch, its firmware is still at 5.1.0.

I have done some reading, advise was given not to upgrade to 8.

Should i upgrade to 7.0.1 or I can remain at 5.1.0?

If you make emunand you can stay on 5.1.0, just update emunand to 7.0.1 with choi

If you want to play online you will have to update to latest version, but still remember there is no SXOS that supports 8.0 yet
