Right if I can get this nailed tonight I will be happy. Chipped my first console this evening - a crystal 1.6 with the X3.

Can someone in the know please just confirm that Im doing the right thing here:

I have X3_1957_v16 and Im gonna rename it BIOS.BIN. I'll burn it to a dvd with another file which is 100+MB and as its a 1024K file, I will set the external dip switches 1 and 2 to ON.

Then I'll boot up and flash from cd/dvd.

Does that sound right?

Please forgive my ignorance. Ive done a lot of reading tonight and just need to be sure that Im not doing something daft.

yup make a 100mb dummy file rename the bios also make sure you set the flash protect dip to off to flash.but i would suggest that it is a lot easier to flash through the http method depending on your dvd it can be a real pain to get it to read your disks.

you can flash over network with x3 flashbios that is alot easier :) give it a try

Thanks for the replies.

So the dip switch setting I mentioned was correct then? An presumably, I just keep the switch setting the same afterwards until I want to update the bios?

Will read some more about flashing via http in the meantime.

while yer at it, go read the sticky on the dip switch settings and itll answer your question.

DG-16D2S-09c is this not moddable?

hey everyone

i wanted to know if anyone ells has the DG-16D2S-09c

AUG 09 , HW/Ver AOA2 FW/Ver 83850c

in JungleFlasher v0.1.69 Beta (75) my VIA VT 6421A CARD
can be seen in PORT PROPERTIES but when my 360 is powerd on and connected "in half tray or not" it does not pull up my drive properties?.?.?

This way is easier. That way you dont break off pad 101 or the trace.

Instead of soldering onto or near trace 101, use a probe, or make one (i did) and probe pad 101.
