Probale Fact 1, 99% of the good info on this site comes from about 2% of it's members... Then it simply gets re-gurgitated by everyone else that reads it (me included!).

I thinks Slayers became redundant with Auto Installer Deluxe 1.01 lot better I think but then again Slayers does the job almost as well

i modded my first xbox about a year ago now... i didnt use any of the auto set-up discs. i fumbled my way through the setup of the whole thing and in the end i think i learned a LOT more that way. i didnt post 100 times on forums asking dumb questions... i just read as much as i could find on xbox-scene and other sources and found pretty much every answer i was looking for. they are out there, people are just too lazy to look for them.

so i guess my opinion is if you are looking to really learn about how your xbox is set-up, do it yourself. and for the love of god, if you have an X3, you have no excuses! ConfigLive makes is so freakin easy! it will format HDs and provides FTP access directly!

Many people just want it to work. Even if it's not "optimal".

Slayers exists for those people, and I don't know why it's such an affront to your sensibilities that people use it.

I get the sense that a lot of people on this forum think they're 3l337 because they can wade through a couple ini and xmi files. You're not. You just spent more time learning about your hobby than someone who doesn't put the effort in and uses Slayers. As far as the dev teams are concerned we're all stupid end users (a term frequently bantered about at work). Get off your high horses and let people use the tools that are available without trying to shame them for it.

i dont know sh*t about this sh*t (ya that's right), and when my x3 finally arrives I play on putting Slayer's on because I dont care to muck around with ini files, or run the risk of messing something up. I just want it up and running. I wanna back up games and play them. WTF do I care if there's a purple elf running around on the screen rather than a green X. I just want it to work.

Well said Slawek, I have installed files numerous ways, if I want to use Slayers disk it pretty much does what I intended my modded box to do, BACK UP GAMES!
