please help, 9504

hi, i'm new with 360's and was wondering if i can still flash my slim 9504 drive after 16747 d/u? (i have had backups made of the games that i have, but with having a 2 year old finding my games, the originals are now starting to freeze my 360) if so could somebody please let me know and could somebody please link me to a step by step tut? as i have seen a few flying around, but am so new to this, i dont want to go wrong. i dont have any of this xecuter or probe or anything like that, is it possible to do it with just a sata that i have spare in my pc? and either the pc p/s or an external p/s?

try these, it really depends on the firmware on the drive. just an fyi there is a whole section on the main forum just with guides for this. You should also read the jungleflasher Tutorial(Included with Jungle Flasher.)

wow that's a lot of reading lol, thankyou for the info gavin. is it possible to do it even though i have done updates, as i read somewhere that the updates change the firmware? and is it possible to do it without x360usb pro? i am sorry for asking, but all of the tuts seem to use the x360usb pro or something similar? and again thankyou for your response

you can always flash the drive no matter what dash its on.

If I'm not mistaken, after one of the 13xxxx updates, think it's 13164, the drive get's locked and is changed to 0272. Been a bit, so do some digging to find out for sure.

Thats correct, "NOTE: AFTER DASHBOARD UPDATE (13146) ALL SLIM 9504 LITEONS ARE NOW STOCK 0272 FW –AFTER DASHBOARD UPDATE (13599) 0272 ARE NOW LOCKED!"Found on page 84 of the JF TUT.... Going through this myself at the moment!

Advice on slims is to get a pro to do it. You will either have to cut a track and probe it or Kamakazi the drive if your lucky. It isn't for the faint of heart and you will mess your drive up.

Plus you will need a USB Pro & ck3 at least to flash it.

xconsoles.com has the X360USBPRO 2 in stock, if you are going to proceed with flashing your drive, I suggest you pick one of those up soon before they are gone; I waited 7 months for mine. You could also get the X360USBPRO V1 and a CK3i instead, but I suggest the PRO 2 if you have the opportunity.

Also, as gavin_darkglide suggested, read the Jungle Flasher tutorial; it has links and walks you through your particular drive/firmware scenario, and will tell you everything you need to know. You aren't required to read the whole tutorial, that isn't how the document works.
