Hi ya'll.

My name is Angela.

I live in Saudi Arabia (long story). The consoles are still pretty expensive here and when I came across a classified ad for a "like new" used console with a 6 month XBox Live subscription, 3 original games and an extra controller I was too happy. I hastily bought it without doing my homework first. BIG mistake! I promised my 6 year old son I would get him a 360 for his Birthday and I couldn't let him down.

I knew the console was from the UK, but I foolishly assumed that it was already moded for copied games since the guy lives here in Saudi and if it wasn't I could have any game shop here do it in a breeze. Boy was I wrong!

I bought the console in the evening and we started playing the original games that we got. All was going well till I deleted the XBox live account thinking it was just a profile. Lost that. The next day I got a copied game for my son and popped it in. No dice! No problem, I'll just take it into any local shop to be moded, NOT! The guys here had no clue how to mode it since all consoles sold here are shipped here pre-moded. Nor do they have chips here.

I was crushed for my son! I'm a single mother and I can't afford to buy him original games. The only positive is that the PAL system games are a few bucks cheaper. To add insult to injury the modded consoles went on sale here for just a few dollars more than the one I bought, Ouch!

I really need help! I have spent the past few weeks reading through tons of flashing/hacking/modifying/modding 360 information and I have information overload without understanding any of it. I did manage to recognize my DVD drive from the pictures and that's as far as I got. I have to do this myself and I dont know where to begin. This is what I have to work with right now.

My PC with Internet connection.
Very good to advanced PC skills.
My UK-PAL unmodded console with a Toshiba-Samsung DVD Drive.
A very small budget $25-$50.

Please tell me where to start!!! My son and I will be eternally grateful.

go to the tutorial section and look for textbook's tutorial on how to flash the 360's firmware, you don't need a modchip or anything, but you do need to have have the proper cables, computer hardware, and cables, but info on those are in the tutorial. The programs you'll need are available in the downloads section of 360mods.
