LITEON 74850 Please Help.. Confused :S

What happend was my PC crashed whilst erasing my liteon.. which then i did a full system reboot, which formatted my Harddrive. which meant i lost my Dummy files etc. I used a programme to recover some files (Including the dummy, key etc) however i think i flashed my lite-on using the wrong key... Now when i insert a game it says "Play Game" once i click that it just goes back to Dashboard. can anyone help?

Ya rewrite your original bin and start over. Make sure key is right. Otherwise rgh is needed

Rgh? Whats that?, and i lost the original dummy.bin . now when i do phatkey extract it gives me the wrong key.

Not to sound rude, But why would you format your hard drive if the system just crashed ?????, With the wrong key it wouldn't even say play game, If it says play game but exits to dashboard, Maybe you damaged the drive somehow or the laser has gone bad. Also did you have other dummy.bin's on your PC?, Is that why you think you flashed the wrong key?, If so your only option is to RGH to get the dvd key. There is such a thing as non-destructive factory restore which restores system files but keeps your files, Or you could've taken the HDD out and put it in another PC and got your dummy.bin :facepalm:

Edit: Do you have the DVD KEY written down ?

It sounds abit wrong, i rebooted the system because it was constantly crashing full of viruses im guessing. No i didnt write down the key, The dummy.bin was on my desktop, and stupidly i didnt back it up :| yes i had a few in the past, but they had been deleted before.

If the key is right, and i have damaged the drive somehow, i also have another Hitachi drive, could i possibly use that with this xbox?

RGH Seems so complicated. surely there has to be a simple way of doing it? lol

If it's a liteon, You need a liteon

Actually you can use the hitachi to test the key but yes you would need a liteon to play newer games and be safe
