PLEASE HELP. How do I Install a drive into my 360?

Ok, my mates 360 won't play any games and asks that the CD be inserted into a 360.
I happen to have a spare drive from my knackered 360, and I have put it in the xbox but it still won't play games.

I have found out I am going to need to flash the key, but how do I do that?
Is it the same way as flashing the drive to play back-ups?

Both drives are the Samsung TS-H953 with Firmware version ms25 version A. I have SATA on board my PC motherboard....
