Hey everyone, well I posted on xbox-scene as well as TeamXecuter's forum. But no-one seems to reply, I don't think my questions are that hard, so please if anyone can help. I'd greatly applicate it!

Ok so first off, I want to be able to create/burn/play backups. My 360 is currently in repair (so as I'll say later, Idk what my drive type is.. but i'm pretty sure its Hitachi) to get fixed for the disk scratching problem (hence why I want to play my backups, becuase I'm tired of my disks getting scratched).

1.) So for creating my backups. I bought a Samsung SH-D162C DVD Drive from ebay (read that its the best to create the backups) and I'm just going to use Xbox Backup Creator software

2.) For burning backups, I bought the Pioneer 112D DL DVD Drive (heard it was exactly the same basictly as the 111D, and again was the best option). Again using the Xbox Backup Creator software. Using "Verbatim 8.5GB 2.4X~6X DVD+R DL" DVDs

3.) For playing them, I know obviously I need to hack the firmware. Again I'm not sure what the drive looks like, but I'm pretty sure its Hitachi (but if its not... can you please tell me what I need to do differently if its a Samsung!), but to make things easier I bought a Blaster360 so I can hopefully flash my 360 without having to open my 360 everytime I want to flash my drive. I also bought a generic SATA to USB adapter, so I can use a USB port rather then using a SATA port (which are only on my mother board). Now the problem lies in that I didn't know I had to get external power source... so I was lookin at a Molex Power Supply, but all seems to be from the UK, and also seems WAY to expensive (the one from Xecuter at least), so whast my option for that? Does anyone know where to get a cheap one from a US site, or where I can get a looong molex cable so I can have it plugging out of my computer)

I can answer any questions in my power, or post links to stuff I am buying, but I really would like some help form people who know. I want to be able to give back to the "Scene"/community but I can't seem tog et into it yet (I have a nicely hacked Xbox1, now trying to do so with my 360)

If this info is useful (for SATA or Molex) I have a custom built Dell PowerEdge 400SC

dude what the eck are you talking about??? all ya need is a good mobo with sata onboard for the hitachis, if it turns out to be a sammy their a little bit more trying, but even still all the info can be found on this very site, go to the downloads section and grab textbooks pdf, and yes your drives should be fine aswell as your media

alright well what should I do about the whole SATA and Molex power??? Is there any long cords? I found a thing that goes into my PCI slot on my computer (on the actual case itself, not on the motherboard PCI... just on the actual back fo the case) that allows me to connect the Molex and SATA outside of the case, but still I need (if possible) a really long Molex and really long SATA cable

Can you burn backups with the Samsung SH-D162C or can you you only use it for creating backups ??????????
because you bought 2 drives 1 for backing up and 1 for burning

Re: Please help! I need to make sure I'm doing this all

right ive only flashed hitachi drives an none of them av been v78, but you dont need to power the drive externaly on any of them just hook the sata cable from your 360 dvd drive to your pc's sata connection and away you go, like ive said ive only done the older hitachi drives so you might be talking about the sammy drives needing external power supply. so basicaly all your doing is removing the xbox 360 sata cable an connecting it to your pc power the 360 as with the 360 power supply and also plug in the av lead or it will shut down automaticly after so many minuets which you dont want to happen during the flash process

as far as I read, I think you can just use the Samsung, because any drive can burn it, just really that Samsung is the best at creating backups. And the Pioneer is one of the better ones for burning

Actully I'm just talking about the Blaster360, IT needs exteneral power, thats what I'm questioning how to get. Also what are you saying at the end? I got the part about hooking the SATA cable up, but what about the power? After you said "so basictly all your doing is removing the xbox 360 cable and connecting it to your pc", then is the rest supposed to be a seeprate sentance? I'm not to sure.... can you please reword it? thanks!
