The first time I try to flash my xbox I had the bank switch on on off off and followed the prompt, put in the disc with the bios, and ran the disc. Well it got the warning section and then gave me a "erase failed" messege. So I try another bank off on off off. This time it would just sit there at that Waring messege screen. In other words I used all the banks ( both 1 mb and the 2 mb) and they all failed. I try the eject and the power buttons. Then I try to turn it on to reflash but it just turns on for a sec, off, on, off, on, then the eject button flashes red and amber. I'm I screwed. I bought a new X3 chip and try connecting the chip to existing solder wires thinking that the new chip will allow me to flash a fresh bios. No dice...I'm at a lost. Is there anything I can done beside getting a new premodd xbox. I read on the forum about installing the chip in an older premodd xbox to reinstall a working flashing bios since I have another xbox with a X3 chip which is working great. . Oh, I found out that the xbox is a 1.6v xbox hence I was installing the wrong bios (stupid me) I need alot of help from everyone. Thank you in advance.

If you've got the wrong bios on the chip you won't be able to load, obviously. With xbox off, press power and eject and you should get flashbios. flash with v16plus version.

If you can't get backup to work you may have a 1.6b. (check ram, hynix = 1.6b) 1.6b won't boot backup and will need to be hotswapped or put into an older version.

The back up bios is 3.0.1 not 3.0.3....
