Please Help Me - No Controller in Flash 3.0.3

I just installed my X3CE, and after selecting the BIOS bank of (off, on, off, off, off) - I was able to get the FlashBIOS 3.0.3 screen. But no matter what I try I cannot naviagate the menu with my controller. So I dont know how to flash my BIOS. If I disable the chip, and boot to M$Dash, the controller works fine in any of the 4 ports. I tried unplugging the controller while booting and then plugging after FlashBIOS boots - no luck, and none of the ports seem to be doing anything...

I have a 1.6B XBox
I have 1 XBOX Factory Controller (S-Type) from Microsoft, this is the one that came with the system.

This happens a bit, though not normally with Orignal controllers. Try a different controller, or try using the remote and dongle. Make sure it's on port 1. If that doesn't work, let us know.

Thanks. I tried the DVD Remote and Reciever (though it would not work on port 1, only on port 4) and that worked. I am glad I had one of those laying around. Thanks. After getting that, I am gaming away now! Thanks for your help and quick response.

Yeah ive heard of some newer MS controllers not working with FlashBIOS. Try and get your hands on an older ver or as Rookio said, use the MS remote - works like a charm.
