ok,
I'v got a old xenon that's been jtagged and running the 8955 dash, the problem is each time I power the console up within the first two minutes of booting the console it will freeze on the dashboard, also my xbox climbs in temprature. so I'll switch it on and the fan with start to rise faster and faster till the fan is at max speed, then the xbox360 powers off and then gives two red rings.

also, you might want to know (this may be why it's overheating) atleast I think it's over heating. i'm using a falcon/opus power brick as I do not have the original xenon power brick.

could this be why it's doing all of this? also It has had the x-claimp fix done, I also tried reflowing the board with a heatgun but it didn't work and I'll probly do it again tomorrow,

thank you, j0shwh0a

thank you so much!

are there any tutorial's on here about reflowing xbox360?
also how do I add new thermal paste to the board?
could you link me to something troubleshooting my problems !

also, THANKED!

it shouldnt matter bout the power brick mate.
i only use 1 between 4 boxes and 2 of them should have diff bricks.

i had same problem with my RGH.sounded ok when you first switched on then just got louder n louder..:mad2:

easy fix...take ya heat sinks off, clean them.then re-apply some good thermal paste and re-seat the sinks.
it should be all good.
if that dosnt work,it could need reflowing.

Ok, i'll explain everything I did.
First I extracted everything from the motherboard (heatsinks & Thermal Paste)
I then wrapped most of the board up with tin foil and then started the heatgun moving in circular motions around the gpu and cpu and the ram chips on low heat for 3 minutes. I then on high heat went around the chips for 30 seconds then stoped. 15 minutes later I got the MOBO and started applying the thermal paste to the gpu and cpu. then I put the heatsinks back on and applyed the x-clamp fix. I then powered it on with the falcon/opus power brick and thats what happend in the video.

there are some procautions I didn't take, the motherboard was not let to rest for 45 minutes
I didn't have it on a flat area, so maybe the motherboard is bent in someway. I'm willing to try the fix again but using a diffrent tutorial because the one I used did not work for me.

thanks, j0shwh0a

thank you!, but this still doesn't solve my problem about the power brick!
i'm in aus, it's really hard to come by someone selling a xenon power supply!
