Ok i've done my reading around the posts but I really cant find some answers to my questions. I have an xbox slim liteon 0225 mxic which I paid someone to flash. He says he used the sputnik probe. Now my question is this: if I need to reflash my xbox for future updates do I still need to probe for updating? (he gave me my keys there are 2 files dummy and lite_cfw.bin) do I still need to do the cut and soldering?

Ive also read about the sputnik switch ( the guy who did my xbox says he doesnt install this). Would this be a better soultion for me for future fw updates since I will not have to solder?

I would like to be able to do fw updates in the future by myself since its a long drive to the guy who does them and are expensive. From my reading I understand I will need a x360usb pro and a ck3 lite or pro. Is there anything else I would need? Assuming I get a sputnik switch

Thank you so much for your help!

@erd132 thanks for the reply. So basically if I can find someone to solder the sputnik switch for me whenever there is a new update all I have to do unlock the drive using the switch controls on the already soldered sputnik switch and connect my drive to my pc using the x360usb pro and power it using ck3 lite and use jungle flasher. Is this a pretty accurate description of the process? Thanks again mate

thanks for the advise guys im actually based in the us so that might be a problem. Im usually pretty good with following instructions and stuff but soldering is just something im not really confident in. I have really bad dexterity :). The guy who flashed my xbox says he doesnt install switches Im not sure why probably wants a return customer hehe.

@teajunkie. Doesnt the probe method require soldering? I asked him about it and he said he had to solder something (i havent read the forums back then so I wasnt sure what he was talking bout)

@teajunkie thanks again for all the info. I still probably wont be able to do it even if a 4 year old could haha. I guess my best bet is to find someone to install a switch for me cuz I dont want to cut the line and solder everytime there are updates. Thanks alot guys
