Okay I did something very stupid and I need help? I was holding down the white controller button when I hit the power button on the x-box and nothing came on just a black screen. There was also a game inside the x-box as I did this, and it wouldn’t eject the cd. So I took it off the board and powered it up and got it to eject. But now it ejects but wont do anything else, I mean it turns on and everything but it wont start to boot, or play the cds, it just gives me a black screen. Please any help is appreciated.

Additional info. It’s a X3 with the latest bios, no dashboard (did not install one since I could play my backed up games)

halo : reach

been playing halo : reach offline. as I do recall when halo 3 came out m$ had been banning gamers playing that game. Im anxious to play it online and was wondering has anyone else played it online and not been banned? I have seen news articles saying M$ is looking for players playing the game and banning both there xbox and profile.

Re: halo : reach

DO NOT PLAY HALO: REACH ONLINE!!! I cannot stress this enough. You're damn right you'll get banned. In fact, I'm willing to bet if you took that game online right now, you'd receive a ban within an hour.

Re: halo : reach

think about it, what happens when you play a game that's released early?

1. you create a time/date stamped game save
2. it's added to the list of games you've play it time/date stammped - microsoft can see this.
2. if you earn an achievement it's also time/date stamped - microsoft can see these cause they are saved to their servers.
3. your xbox verifies security the dmi sector contains region & stealth info that's microsoft can see. this is how microsoft can tell your playing the game early.
a. if it's a pre-release that microsoft released the dmi crc's are gonna be different from the retail release. this also tells microsoft your playing the pre released game.

playing a pre-released game is just stupid to do. wait for a verified retail release.

this happed with halo 3 & saints row 2, when they both were released early. users were flagged then when the ban wave started they were all banned.

november 09's ban hammer was because they learned how to detect modded drives.

Re: halo : reach

The fact is, MS has stated that playing this early will result in a ban, and once you go online with it, it's in your played games. MS probably has some system set up to alert them when Live detects that Halo is in someone's play list.

It's not worth the risk Especially with this game.... Kinda of a joke the vehicles are like your driving them on Ice & they handle really crappy- not to impressed with microsoft's programming skills on this one :x

Re: halo : reach

You can't wait 5 days for the game to be released?

Even though you can see the item in the Web Marketplace you cannot purchase it unless you have a special 25-character pre-paid token. Microsoft has also stated that they have "ways of knowing" if you're playing an unauthorized version of the game. Just because you don't actually play the online multilayer doesn't mean you're safe. Also, I wouldn't except people to get banned right away - maybe after the game is released or during the next ban-wave.

Agreed

But the problem is that its a xbox live rip of the game and requires to have a jtag to play. They stated that they would ban the accounts and consoles of all those who play the game before the official release date.
As far as i see it, its pretty much gonna happen what ha-pend last year when modern warfare 2 got leaked.Either that or they must just start scanning for molded consoles

Re: halo : reach

Ok well my take on this is that c4eva better had gotten his sh*t together cause i dont want to have to go buy another xbox after release date.

To folks who are misinformed.....
YOU NEED TO WAIT UNTILL A VERIFIED RIP COMES UP IN THE DATABASE BEFORE INSERTING HALO REACH INTO YOUR DRIVE.

I would suggest takingyour xbox offline then and keeping it that way. This is all cat and mouse, no matter how good the mod's are written microsoft will find a way to detect it eventually.

Only way to stay safe is either don't mod or stay offline.

Yeah but i live on the risk side of the coin i dont think there would be programs like abgx360 if we are just supposed to sit back and stay offline. Secondly microsoft will find out eventually but its going to take them awhile and that "awhile" is the money im taxing them ill take that any day of the week.

Re: halo : reach

C4E knows his stuff - he wouldn't say LT is safe on XBL if many people get banned during a ban wave again (like last year).

But even so, you can't blame him if you do get banned - it's Microsoft who comes up with ways to ban you, and I don't think C4E know's all of Microsoft's tricks.

Like everyone, I hope C4E's firmware is good and that there will be no mass-banning :D
