Please Help! Xecuter 2.6(I think) boot up problem!!

Hi,

A few months ago I aquired this modded xbox. It was working fine and I had already updated the bios which also worked fine. One day i went to boot the xbox up and the MS logo loaded and it said "xecuter 2" under the logo but then it just froze and nothing happened. The first thing i thought was okay the bios is messed up. So I switched over to bank 2 and loaded flashbios 3.01 and flashed the bios again. After the xbox turned off and I turned it back on it still froze. The blue light still comes on and it still says xecuter 2. Would it still say that if the chip were messed up or if something had come unsoldered. Any suggestions would be great. Thakns everyone!

Could be a HDD issue.

Connect any unlocked HDD to the Xbox. Get a copy of Slayers 2.6.

Boot from it with the unlocked HDD. If it loads, then you'll need a new HDD.

(if you get error 07, then try changing the jumper settings to either master/cable select).

What happens when you boot with the chip off?

It has never been able to boot with the chip off. The light always blinks red and green and it says something about take my xbox to a repair center or something. Hm this is really making me kind of mad. The chip is for sure all connected though if the lights on AND it says xectuer 2 under the MS logo right?

Yes, the chip is working properly. What is the error number in the upper left of the screen when you boot with it off?

hm

well if i boot with it on now...it doesn't even say xecuter 2 at the bottom anymore...now it sits at the xbox logo screen and if i leave it long enough it goes to the error screen where i get an 07 HDD error...

Definite HDD failure.

ugh I put a new hard drive...and when I boot up I get a diagnal of error 16...its wierd.

Nope, that's to be expected since you have no MS Dashboard files and your Xbox clock has reset.

The easiest way to bypass this is to reflash your chip with the new X2 5035 BIOS. It disables the clock check facility. Once done you should be able to boot to Slayerss with another HDD connected. If you want to leave this HDD in the Xbox as a replacement, you can format and rebuild it using Slayers.
