Hello everyone.
I installed a x3 on a 1.6 xbox,
this is the third time i install one and i never had any problem before.
i use the pcb that is used for lpc rebuild.

After the x3 is installed, the xbox boots normally, and the light in front of the little panel is red, i checked the dip switch and it seems to be all right. The two blue led on the chip are blue meaning i get the 5v and the 3,3 v (or so i read in another post). I read in one of the sticky that this has to do with a bad d0 connection. I unsoldered d0 and resoldered it, and it really seems to be ok, to me at least. After that, i tried desoldering the gray wire (d0) from the lpc rebuild kit and soldering it directly on the d0, still no luck...

Like i said every other time i installed one i got no problem, so this is the first time i have to troobleshoot...

Can you boot to backup bios by pressing eject + power button together?

i just saw in another post that it may be because i need a flashbios v3.0.3.
so forgive me for asking something that may be obvious.
Anyone knows a way to check if I have a v1,6b xbox ?

thx a lot hung,

however, the mfg date is 2004-07-26 and mem is samsung,

but i read a few threads about 1,6b problems and it seems to be the exact one i am having now,

i mean 2 blue lights on, d0 correctly soldered but system doesnt see chip.
Is it podsible at all i have a 1,6b but with smsung memory ????
or is it anything you could make me check to see if the problem could be anything else,

i am at a loss...

What happens if you boot up without the switch panel plugged in?

Try going through all the switch settings to look for flashbios on your chip

bank 2mb boots into flubber (normal boot)
bank 1mb 1 normal boot
bank 1mb 2 frag
half the 512mb bank frag
half boot normal
half the 256mb bak frag half boot normal

without dip switch panel, xbox boots normal...

Can you make sense of that

Check the no solder power/eject adapter, peel off the sticky pad to see if there are any bridges between the solder points

if you have samsung ram then its an 1.6 ....


1.6b uses hynix ram and the freezings and these things occured due to the different timing of the ram that 1.6b used...

Just did that and i dont see any bridges...

Is it possible that my chip just was flashed with a bad flashbios, like a corrupted one ?
would it cause the front panel to stay red and let the box boot normally (or frag into certain bios banks) ... ?

It does seem like a D0 problem

Try a very quick tap of the power button to boot with mod enabled, as some xbox power buttons are very sensitive.

You said the quick boot doesnt work - Try pressing the eject button a split second after the power button and holding them pressed until the bootup

finally found the problem, it was actually that lad3 wasnt making contact (bad soldering).
