what do you mean no "rom" to install a pin header? i installed one in my 1.0 box.

if you really want to do the wire install go to baldbouncer's web site, he has the wire install diagram there.

Samsung dvd tray noise help!!

Hi I have a Samsung toshiba DVD drive that is perfectly usable but makes a wierd noise when I open it or close it.

Is it the tray motor or a lack of oil? Heres the vid of the drive opening and closing to help u diagnose the problem so i can fix it:

you can try replacing the tray and the gears the open the tray....

but some drives open fast and it's just a vibration noise that won't hurt
anything.

hold you finger on the tray as it opens to keep it from vibrating and see
if you noise goes away

Well I opened it up and found dust build up in one of the teeth of the cogs for the tray. i removed it, put it all together and now its super smooth and quiet!
