Ok, well i am trying something new. My friend wants a new case for his xbox. So i told him about my little idea and he sayed he wouldpay me for witch ever one i dont want (painted xbox or the plexisglass one) when i see the finished products. Ok so i am new to working with plexiglass and i was wondering how to make clean cuts in the plexiglass.

Questions-

1. Can i sand plexiglass?
2. Can i use a scroll saw with plexiglass?
3. What kind of drill bits do i need?

If you want you can fill me in with more info.

Ive googled plexiglass and cutting plexiglass but never tought of googleing that thx

here's the trick: depending on the thickness, you get a long straight edge, take an xacto and make a cut (for thicker glass, deeper cut) and then you hold it over an edge and break it. It'll break along your line. a good way is to get a 1 inch thick wooden dowel and put it along the line and then bend it over both sides. If you're doing a straight cut, use a band saw, not a scroll saw, the scroll saw will melt the acrylic and jam it up.

I made one perfectly out of using a jigsaw, i have one already made.

easiest for controller holes is jsut a drill home (big as you can) and then dremel ti out, problem is anything that touches the acryic repeadedly and quickly while getting hot will have acrylic melt to it and just burn (ruling out scroll saw and drum sanders) It can be a pain to work with, but for controller holes I'd drill the edges and jsut try to punch the middle out somehow. you can do a dremel if you take frequent (like every 5 sec) breaks, and use a carbide bit, not a stone grinder.

Perspex looks just like plexiglass and is easy to cut, drill, and sand (hacksaw, drill, dremel).

Maybe plexiglass is the american word for perspex, I don't know.

controller ports should be easy... find out the width of the ports, and use a drill bit to make two holes across from each other, the use a handheld jigsaw to cut out the middle, then file it straight. Just make sure you keep the plexi covered with the paper it comes with otherwise you'll get scratches.

Just make a circle large enough for the blades of an 80mm fan to blow through. Like normal, make it behind the heatsinks blowing out of the case, and for a grill, make a neat looking 80mm Custom Computer grill to go on the outside, mines like that. Red inner 80mm fan, and a biohazard grill screwed on the outside.
