I was trying to flash one of my Xbox 360's and accidentaly plugged in the power cable for the drive upside down, then i saw one of the circular metal parts which i understand is probably a resistor (sorry, noob) burn up and start smoking. That particualar part of the chip is obviously fried now. This is what i've noticed after putting everything back together and trying out the 360. At first, it seems like there was either no fan or motor (power?) control anymore, i would turn on the 360 and the motor would just keep running faster and faster to the point where the 360 RROD'ed. I decided to leave it be for a couple months and came back and now it seems to be working fine, no RROD's, and that thing with the fan or motor didn't happen anymore. The 360 for the most part works fine, but the drive won't eject, i press the eject button and it just doesn't open, seems like the power is dead for the drive.
In short, what im asking is, is there any way i can fix my drive? I saw a similar thread where this happened to someone else and they were able to somewhat fix it by soldering the broken chip area or something of that sort, im not an expert. Any help would be appreciated!
