I still get over heating. And correct me if I'm wrong but the thermal paste only needs to be removed the chips correct?

Check the secondary code once it overheats. You may have a ram issue

E05. Just to double check I press the sync button and hit the eject button giving me 0011 which told me to check E05 which cpu over heating

How fast does it overheat, and what paste are you using?

Hmm, something isn't tight.. Take off the cpu heatsink and see how the paste spread across the chip

That's pretty strange... Could you take a pic of the bottom under the cpu where the clamp goes? Something is causing the cpu to fault, it looks to me like the heat sink had decent contact. You can try just setting the heatsink on the chip and running it without the xclamp just to see if it overheats still. You may need to hold the board in your hand so the heatsink legs on the bottom are not touching a surface and lifting the heatsink off of the chip

Yea it still over heats. But I notice that that the heat sink doesn't even get hot. Earlier when I powered the console the heating got hot instantly but now it doesn't even get hot with or without the xclamp it just over heats.

sounds like the heatsink just isn't touching the chip now
