I really want one of these but I want to know what it actually does. What are the features and advantages of this thing? I would buy it anyway, but my dad wont let me spend money on it if I just say, "'Cause it's cool."

well it's the pro switch - little easier than the other switch.

And LCD that just kinda looks cool...

I mean as far as I know it doesn't add much function other than the display which doesn't do that much and ofcourse the USB slots! (2)

Looks pro :D .

I mean it has the same functions if not more - while looking better and is easier to use. That's pro IMHO!

I'm just getting the pro switch.

In XBMC it can show current track playing and the time. Besides that. err idk what it does. It would be cool if there would be animations for it.

guys xlcd is just the lcd where you must mount yourself.
x3 pro switch is the new switch design that goes under the front lip of case.
x3cp (control panel) is where u got the whole new front panel with integrated lcd, switch, and usb ports. maybe ir but i dont think so.

just to clarify!

neon is correct....dunno where u guys got off with the switch and the cp.....but the lcd also displays the temp of you box....hdd or gpu not sure which....also time/date song or move or picture title....track length...maybe time left or time currently of a movie....most of all the features depend on the dash you are running also....such as xbmc which has lcd support.....not really sure if u run evox that it will take advantage of the lcd....if i forgot anything someone add 2

I'm really intrested in buying the XLCD, does anyone know if I would be able to control XBMC from it rather than turning on my TV to navigate through the menus

Cheers

Yes you can navigate through all the menus within xbmc. It's pretty slick, i'm just messing around with it now and it works well. Only thing I dont like is that navigation is a little slow. Other than that, it rocks!!

My fight with homeland security

On 1/6/10 Homeland security knocked down my house and took all my computers and DVD,
They cuffed me and removed all my stuff after they had all my stuff they told me that they would be in contact with me. They did not arrest me the charges are copyright infringement. I have now started to use programs called trucrypt to hide all my data. I suggest anyone who has backups make a container and put your game in there or make a hidden volume this could have save me a lot of trouble. I’m going to court on May 13. I did have the original games but when they server warrant like this if you any file or DVD they will screw you. This is the new USA that we live in remember song anything on your computer is under search can be used against you in a court of law I will be doing updates to let you know also the warrant is attached to this take a look at it covers anything in you house real scary sh*t what homeland security can do to us in the USA god help us.
Please use the program it could save your ass it is free and open source http://www.truecrypt.org/

Re: My fight with homeland security

Using something like TrueCrypt isn't going to save you against Homeland Security.

You obviously did something wrong since many people make duplicates of their games and nothing has happened to them. You cannot have a warrant against you for simply making duplicates of your games. Duplicating the games isn't illegal. It's distributing them that is.

depends on the country you live in, in the US bypassing any form of copy protection is illegal. But as long as you don't go around advertising it you should be fine.

Re: My fight with homeland security

So, if you just made backups of all your own discs how did they even find you? How would anyone know you are making backups of your own discs?
