So you KEPT the 1st MB of your original NAND?
yes, of course. first MB is original, rest 15MB are from donor nand.

everything works fine. no freeze now. only care for you CB of donor nand. CB5772 or CB5773.

my was CB5773, so i have to use donor nand with CB5773.

if you only replace the smc_config - then possible.

i put my 1st MB (CB5773) in CB5772 donor nand (the one Groxack have posted here on first site) - and i had still freezes.
Then i put my 1st MB in CB773 donor nand, and it worked - no freeze.

Unfortunately the resulting conversation after the proposed fix has left me reluctant to touch anything as I am left slightly confused and aprehensive.

I would appreciate it greatly if someone could provide a bulletpointed process of what to do in what programs here to get my Falcon 5773 not to freeze.

Thanks

You still don't understand.

You could fill the rest of the 15MB with cupcakes for all it's worth. It's reading the SMC Config.

Why do people persist to argue a point they know f**k all about? Annoys the crap outta me.

i only can tell here my experience.

the donor nand postet by Groxack here on first site with CB5772 did not worked for me. But it was ok for Croxack, his original nand has the same CB5772.

after i took a CB5773 donor nand, it's working for me. so maybe smc_config in CB5772 and CB5773 is different. i dont know. i did not extractet and compared them.

but i can definitely confirm: it works! no more freeze. why it works is not important for me. this will be important for freeboot builder tools, to make a errorless nand image.

Please can you upload your smc_config/5773 nand? I tried to use 360 Flash tool and manually copied the config from the donor nand uploaded on page1 but my console failed to boot until I flashed it back.

Is there an easier way to do this?

For reference, here are the 2 smc_configs I have tried so far

The first one is from the donor nand linked on page1.

They have not worked for me, dash is fine but games freeze quite quickly. Maybe they will for someone else.

Well I really hoped for more input in this post, but I guess nobody cares or is to busy to respond to a noob. Anyways, I think that I finally hit the nail, after a few days of trial and error I received a response on other forum from another user telling me that he used donated nand with dashboard version 13604 and it worked for him very well, so after i got home yesterday, I proceeded to use the donated nand with the version indicated to make my freeboot image, then I flashed the image and stared testing the console and it went thru for 5 hours without a single freeze or fatal crash, I will continue testing it so I'm sure it's cured for good.
Well there you have it guys, It would be interesting hear from others with this same problem.
Did you keep the dashboard version of 13604? Surely this did not work with RGH2?

Im having a similar problem. I did a Falcon RGH 2.0 last week and all went smoothly with a 40 second average boot time no freezing .

Now I have a Falcon V3 Rgh 2.0 with an average 25 second boot time.

.

It glitches fine no problems there, it loads the stock dash and FSD 3 fine, some games freeze up both from HDD and DVD.

Console works perfect and plays everything without freezing when put back to retail mode.

I will tonight try what whats been discussed in this thread.

My plan A): Extract SMC from donor 5773 and inject into original nand then make a hacked image of 16197.

Plan B) Build a hacked image to 15574 using the original nand. I have a feeling maybe theres something wrong with 16197??? ..... not sure but worth a try.

Plan C) Extract 1mb from original nand and inject into donor 5773 nand. Then make a hacked image of 16197 from the donor nand.

This is a customers console and I'm really stumped. The temps are very good, mid 50's. I have also applied new thermal paste, thinking maybe I'd just disturbed the original compound.

There is no set time for the freezing but its only when playing certain games. I've tried with and with out DVD Drive. I am using a Coolrunner REV C with 470pf cap + 3k3 resistor in the middle of the CPU_RST wire.

what are your thoughts? any idea?

I am totally stumped by this one, its taken over my life and the wife isnt happy. lol. but shell never understand....

I will post my results once I've gotten around to it.

---------- Post added at 22:56 ---------- Previous post was at 22:47 ----------

Does it matter if donor nand is from a v1,2 or 3? or do I have to use a Falcon V3 with a CB5773.

Thanks mate. What do you mean by do fc? Compare? If they are the same, what do you think the problem may be? I am almost clueless but am leaning towards that the smc may somehow be corrupt or perhaps my cop of j runner's contents may have corrupted and resulted in bad image builds. ..... probably not but I'm exploring all options. Perhaps going to 15574 may help. who knows...

Yep spot on. i extracted smc only from the donor and injected it into original retail nand then built hacked 16197 image in jrunner.

I used autogg to extract the smc.
