RGH Posible fix for Falcon RGH 2 freezing problem

I have exactly the same problem, Falcon with CB 5773, I have all kind of data from my original nand but I can´t find a donor nand and I do not know how to bulit a image afterwards without freeze ... maybe someone can help please ... :redface:

Interesting. I have a rgh2 Falcon that I have coming back to me. Games keep freezing off the external. I will have to see what kernal it's running. First time I've had freezing issues with a RGH.

If you upload your original nand, I can make it for you using a donor smc and see if that helps. It solved my problems so maybe itll solve yours.

@ Robertdemarco, try this donor. this is the one i used. I only used its smc though. I extracted the smc from this one, then injected it into my original nand then made the hacked 16197 image in jrunner.

Yep spot on. i extracted smc only from the donor and injected it into original retail nand then built hacked 16197 image in jrunner.

I used autogg to extract the smc.

SMC or SMC config? They are different files.

Find anything? Also, the customer called me today, all working well, except that it wont work in hdmi on his tv like it used to. but it worked on mine and works on his other hdmi tv. What you think it may be? Ill check tonight but I think I left the smc set to ntsc. maybe his tv dont support ntsc.

Again, the confusion over SMC / SMC-config is there.

The SMC has nothing to do with regions.

As i said, I extracted the smc only. not smc config, just smc. The nand is ntsc. ( i think ) it doesnt matter though.

So the first 4 bytes of the decrypted SMC are different from the stock NAND you posted and the donor NAND.

Stock NAND (not working) :

00 52 18 0D

Donor NAND (working) :

80 05 A1 C5

What would help if people who are having issues with their RGH2 Falcons could extract the NAND using J-Runner and upload smc_dec.bin, I can start looking for a common theme.

I can provide at least one working SMC from a customer console, and one SMC that wouldn't boot a hacked image but loaded Xell for key retrieval, either of those help any? Haven't had enough come through to see one that freezes yet.

Can only find the non-working one at the moment, first four bytes are 1F 90 ED F2, link to the whole decrypted SMC here: https://dl.dropbox.com/u/11716368/SMC_dec.bin

Think I used the 'create new bootloader chain' feature on the working one as it was a Demon install and I wanted to test boot times before committing to an update, so I only have the CB5771 image here. Not sure if they changed the SMC when they updated the systems to split CBs or not, if you can still use that SMC I'll extract and post when I get a chance.

If you need 1 more sms_dec.bin let me know.. I did an falcon rgh2 a while back and had like many freezing problems.. I just made it back to retail cause didn't found a solution back then.

you have made 3 posts about your issue in other peoples threads. you may want to make your own thread and included pictures of your install

Is great to hear that, I been trying different nands to fix once and for all the freezing problem on this falcon but it just kept freezing in some games, but after moco talked about the smc swap i decided to give it a try, and I test it playing blops 2, since this game was the one that always freeze the console after 25 or 30 minutes, and now it went true for 3 hours after the smc exchange. I'll keep testing it just to make sure this time it's really fixed. And then I´ll upload my decripted SMC's.

fingers crossed. I had some freeze, some worked. Sleeping dogs used to freeze at the loading screen all the time. So far the customer has reported to me that its running well.
