RGH Posible fix for Falcon RGH 2 freezing problem

POWER MODE means how the CPU, GPU and RAM should be powered. Possible values: 8080, 8180, 8280, 8380 and 8480.
8380 is often used in Falcons, but sometimes other values could be used too. The best value for Falcon that freezes is 8180.
8080 is used in Jaspers, slim consoles have 8180 and 8280 values.

I don't know what is POWER VCS CONTROL, but it could affect incorrect work of cooling system after installing the RGH.
Possible values: 8555, 8565, 8665 and 8235. Falcons have mostly 8565 value, Jaspers have 8665 one.

Pos. Video Clock Speed Sync for GPU to RAM. As tweaking The POWER VCS CONTROL (underclocking/overclocking) can result in Lockups, Freezing and long boot times)

Cheers for the info martin i had a falcon CB 5774 and tried different smc_config.bin from this thread but the setting that worked for me was the one you shared :

ANA Fuses 03
Power Mode 8280
Power VCS Control 8665

re-created image and flashed to xbox and now has been running for over 2 hours no freeze boot time around 30 secs and temps seem stable

So again thanks for sharing the info i now have a happy customer

Thats a good point (RAM) as I have tried:

ANA Fuses 03
Power Mode 8280
Power VCS Control 8665

but it locks up/freezes on anim for the one I'm working on atm. so I use 8480/8555 (runs warm but stable)

Just as an FYI, one of our testers for R-JTAG used a Falcon which would freeze on RGH2. It doesn't freeze any more so the situation MAY be resolved with R-JTAG.

If someone would be nice enough to donate a Falcon board which freezes until you change SMC config values, I can confirm this....

Just thought id post my findings, Had a Jasper here that would freeze, had a Power Mode value of 8480. Changing it to 880 fixed my boot problems. Have not tested games set so still need to do that but looks promising!

Open your RGH NAND in J-Runner and go to SMC config settings.

This post has acceptable values. Edit the SMC Config accordingly and a new (updflash-updated.bin) file is created. Write this to your console and see if it helps. If not, load the updflash.bin RGH NAND again and try other values.

for my falcon the original was 8180:8555 with 02 fuse and freeze

and only 8480:8555 and ana Fuses 03 works
but it working very hot- fans on 100% and temps are 65-66 on game

edit 1)
now im trying to set only ana fuses to 03 and leave the rest as original

edit 2)
originals with only fuses cause freeze on the end of boot animation.
