Just confirming my RGH2 install today..

Serviced my brother's Falcon console on 16203 (5774) . Used the same wiring route I posted a few pages back. Boot times are 5 to 45 seconds..

Coolrunner 3 Lite :

Phat Switch ON

LK1 Bridged
LK2 Bridged
LK 3 + 4 Open (again, of course lol)

S2 Dip Switches = 4 and 6 set to ON
S4 Dip Switches = All off

I used 52cm Kynar 30AWG wire for my CPU_RST (routed over the DVD drive and Fan Shroud)
I also used the same wire for my STBY_CLK on the alternative (FT2R2 point)

SMC Settings were stock..

Power mode - 8480
VCS Control - 8555
and ANA Fuse - 03

My brother is a happy bunny. So, there we go more feedback :p

Another XBOX, another Result:

Falcon 5772
with Freezes and 0010

SMC Settings used:
ANA Fuse Val. = 03
Power mode = 8480
VCS Control = 8555

changed to:
Power mode = 8380
VCS Control = 8555
Result = Freeze ingame after couple of minutes

changed to:
Power mode = 8080
VCS Control = 8565
Result = Freeze after 30 Mins than 0010

changed to:
Power mode = 8280
VCS Control = 8565
Result = No Freeze at Dash and Ingame. Played 4 Hours Metro2033 without problems. + Better Glitch times (unter 1 min.)

Thanks for the hard work and effort to find out that this problem is something related to SMC Power CFGs

5772 ... horrible lock ups...
Changed Power mode to 8080 (VCS was set at 8555 and Fuse was 00, didnt change either... )

Works WONDERFULLY!!!

(Also tried:
ANA Fuse Val. = 01
Power mode = 8480
VCS Control = 8555

ANA Fuse Val. = 03
Power mode = 8080
VCS Control = 8565

ANA Fuse Val. = 03

Power mode = 8480
VCS Control = 8555

and Martin's config RAW inject...

The second 2 sets that are written out gave RRoD (3 lights)
Martin's and the first set gave GREATLY improved stability up until i tried loading a game (tested with Forza 4)

Thanks for the hard work on this guys!!!

I guess I have a similar problem: FALCON 16203, 5774, CR rev.C. Tried all sort of wire layouts, 3 CRs and the problem is the same: the console is "framing" at startup and won't get past startup logo(left it 5 mins). XELL boots OK, retail works OK. I'll try with the donor SMC this evening. Anybody had this exact issue before?

XELL works OK, like it should. Nope, didn't run anything from XELL. I'll try XM Player. If XM works ok, without freezing then I guess the problem can be solved according to this thread, right?

it's not definitive, but XMPlayer crashing normally means SMC Config needs editing.
OK, I'll give it a try later and let you know the results. Thanx.

UPDATE: the box just freezed in XMPlayer, while running the movie
second start - xm freezed after 30sec of playing the movie
sometimes it freezes in XM dashboard

So I guess, I need to edit SMC Config according this post, right?

UPDATE 2:
Worked with:

ANA Fuses 03
Power Mode 8280
Power VCS Control 8665

Console is now stable.

Corona freezes are more to do with wiring.

Could I get a little walkthrough on this procedure? Do I use my original nand dump (16202) or my current fb image (16203) for editing? What tabs within jr do I access to get the options to edit? Should I build my own edited or use one of the provided files from the guys here? I am just a little confused. It seems to freeze while trying to access games like bops, ufc 3, batman, etc....xbla seemed to work okay.

EDIT: okay I loaded my latest image into jr, my current settings are:

cb5770
ANA Fuse 01
8280 power
8565 power vcs

After reading again, I still am not sure of one thing though, should I use the donor nands in this thread or just edit my current image?

now I see I can do/try both. I have made 4 images using the edit function:

eg: fuses_power mode_power vcs control

1) 01_8480_8565
2) 03_8280_8665
3) 03_8380_8555
4) 03_8480_8555

off to test...

update: 1,3,4 settings failed to boot, setting 2 booted but no help with freeze issue.
Also tried 03_8280_8665 booted but no help with freeze issue

update: just tried 01_8280_8665, same results

Well I think I just finally hit on one that works:

fuse 01
power 8180
power vcs 8565

All that needed changing from the default was the power from 8280 to 8180. was just playing ufc 3 and black ops 2 with no issues. Well there was a minor lagging in black ops, survival but it only lasted 2-3 seconds.

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this thread and helped me finally get my console working like a boss, 9.40 rater score and no more freezes (fingers x'd)!

The edit of the smc file seems to have worked 100% as I have been playing and messing about on the console since my last post (3 hours ago) with no issues, thanks again guys!

Just a little something for all of you to look for. I had now quite a few falcon RGH2 machines (this probably applies to R-JTAG as well). I've noticed that if you have the power mode at 8280 (power vcs does not matter at all you do not need to touch it) then the machine will likely freeze at boot (glitching stops but no display out) or freeze in mid game after a shorter time like 2-10 minutes. You should try to change it to 8080, 8480, 8180, 8080 (in this order) some of these will fix it.

Those boxes that have the power mode at 8080, 8180, 8380 or 8480 are likely have no problems whatsoever. This is not 100% of course but I had several rgh2 falcons now with 8280 power mode that needed tweaking.
