Well I got to thinking, what if microsoft isnt banning eeprom. What if they are not even banning some other chip on the mother board. What if they are simply banning the unique "DVD drive key" each Xbox 360 has? Is this possible for them to do? I think somebody should test this. Get another Unbanned Xbox 360 and simply swap DVD drives and inject the DVD drive key into that Xbox 360 and just see what happens.

With that theory you could simply take your dvd drive out and startup and would be able to get on live, which doesnt work if you've been banned, so :(

Isn't the unique DVD drive key in the motherboard, wich would mean that the DVD drive does not have to be present for Live to read the unique key?

No offense but you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Not every 360 has an eeprom chip in the first place so they're obviously not using that to ban. To be honest these "here's my theory" threads don't serve much of a purpose...the people who know what they're doing are already researching it and let's leave it at that.
