i've just ordered another x3 so i'll slot this in when i get it and if it works then my current x3 is obviously faulty, i'll post my finding as soon as i get the new chip.

K, i was having the same trouble with my xbox which is a 1.0, so i put my 2.3lite back in and it works fine. I tried installing the X3 in a friends xbox and the same problem. my friends xbox is a 1.4. so it has to be something with the chip. Ill end up sending my chip back and hope i get another one with a 3.03 flashbios. This sucks.
as well i have tried flashing banks 5678 as well in case the first 4 were bad, and still no luck.

new sys lite on, where to start
Hello, I just bought a elite with lite on drive, double yellow cords.
I have a few questions.
Do i have to replace the liteon with a diff drive? spoofing the key to the new drive? Or can i Just flash the liteon with iextreme firmware and use existing drive and key?
What if any are the advantages of using a mod chip on the sys?
What is a recommended mod chip for this sys with lite on?
I want to play online with out getting banned, and play new (back Up) games with out patch online.
Do i have to use a boot dvd for new games?
if someone could clarify this for me i would appreciate it.

You dont have to change the drive but you might need a bit of soldering skills depending on the revesion of the lite-on.
broken down form:
There is a dvd key unique to every xbox the dvd key on the cd reader must match the one on the xbox what you have to do is dump the firmware out of the cd reader and find the dvd key, then place the dvd key in the hacked firmware unique to your drive, and your all good.
Things to know: your never safe online really, but the ixtreme LT for the lite-on drive is so far safe you still have to patch your games and check them with abgx.

if you screw up in dumping the firmware and did recover the dvd key, or lost the dvd key your screwed so do this patiantly

In all cases download the jungleflasher tutorial and all things will be explained, it can be downloaded from the download section of this forum. READ IT TWICE

If there is option to use the exisitng drive, why would i swap with a diff drive and spoof the key?

the console may be brand new to you but i might of been in store for a year so check the date on back of console then we will know more

After asking around here is what I know. now
There [/b]are chips for 360, mandatory for JTAG on the system.
JTAG are the only set up that can back up and run games off of the HD..
And that all systems with a dashboard Ver x.xx.79 or below are the only systems this will work with. All lite on drives are flashable..
some just more difficult, but look at craigslist for someone localy who can flash for you for $40 , in 30 minutes

And correct all lite-on drives are flashable, and to be honst if you have the right tools it wont take you more than 15 minutes, but on the other hand Jtag would take you more than an hour because thats how long it takes to dump the NAND (NAND is a chip on the xbox that you read erase and write, and just like the xbox Drive has the dvd key the NAND has the cpu key), but if all you wanna do is play backups then i suggest do not Jtag because you will 100% get banned because you used unsigned coding.
