i've just ordered another x3 so i'll slot this in when i get it and if it works then my current x3 is obviously faulty, i'll post my finding as soon as i get the new chip.

You dont have to change the drive but you might need a bit of soldering skills depending on the revesion of the lite-on.

There is a dvd key unique to every xbox the dvd key on the cd reader must match the one on the xbox what you have to do is dump the firmware out of the cd reader and find the dvd key, then place the dvd key in the hacked firmware unique to your drive, and your all good.
Things to know: your never safe online really, but the ixtreme LT for the lite-on drive is so far safe you still have to patch your games and check them with abgx.
