I've got a V1.0 XBox and a Xecuter 3 CE & Xapt3r installed. Downloaded X3_1463 bios from xbins - burnt it to CD-RW ( after making several coasters from CD-r and DVD+R! )
Flashed the bios ( with the switches set to on , on , off , off ) , got the yellow line followed by the green line then the xbox shut off.

Now the problems :

On normal restart the the X3 switch is blue , and I get the Exectur Rock the Box logo , then i get a red message "No Executer Chip Detected"

on xbox restart ( hold in the power button ) it starts to boot then i get "Your XBox requires a service.. contact..blah blah "

I have tried reflashing by using the power/eject restart but with the same effect.

Anyone got any ideas where its all gone wrong ?

Thanks in advance.

aye and http flash as well, i find it safer plus you dont waste disks, plus the more something gets copied the more it degrades. you copy it from xbins, copy to disk then put in xbox ... rare but you can get single bit errors. http takes 1 step out:), plus you dont have to mess with possible dvd read errors.

Thanks for your help guys. The D0 wire had come out as well ( which didnt help ) But i reflashed with the 3294 bios via HTTP ( Man that is so much less heartache than via CD!! ) and it now appears to be working as I have a tools menu.... off to play! thanks once again.:D

Found answer - needed to flash to X3_2914... reset everything to default... re-installed latest bios... worked like a charm. Thanks.
