Okay, I have flashed with bios 1959. Switches were in on on on off off position. Everything has gone great so far.

Next question, what position do I leave my dip switches in after flashing???

Leave them in the same position or all back on "on" position?

you can leave 'as is' eg 'on on off off off' if you change the last one (the bottom one) to on, then it will stop you messing it up by accident (it's the write protect), or also if you turn all of the banks to off, that'll work fine to, as it defaults to the first bank (1-4) on the x3.

Hope this helps.

D:)

P.S. It's always advisable to try and "search" for your question before posting, the 'mods' get angry if you ask questions that have already been asked a million times !!

Just a heads up for ya !!

Thanks Phoenix.

And yes I spent about 30 minutes searching the forums for this questions. Couldn't find a thread on it...

once you flash the chip the first time and you are successful. you never have to touch the switches again. you can do everything from the x3cl.

boot to different banks
flash the banks
name the bios banks
etc.....

Thanks everyone for the help. After I flashed it the first time, and only time, it went smooth! Everything is working great and I just gave away my first gen Xbox to the family cabin.

This is a 1.6 withe the xcecuter 3 and I can now read some backup DVD's that would not work before.

Had the first xecuter and now I have the latest! You guys rock!!!

Re: Sata Card Recommendations

Any PCI SATA card with the VIA VT6421A chipset will work. This is the card that I got.
Many other modding websites sell this card as well, like VGC Repairs. On the Team-Xecuter website here, you can find a list of resellers selling Xecuter producs, but they most likely sell this PCI card too.
