[solved]Postfix CPU pin and other questions

Hello!

Does anyone know the CPU pin(ball) that is used for the postfix for Corona V4?

I have seen pictures of the postfix adapter, but not a single document about that whick pin it is.

I already ordered few adapters. It is just that everything from outside of Finland takes few weeks to ship.
Now i got one console modded, and i don't need to keep it open collecting dust just because one little component to arrive.

Well I'm from Sweden, and shipping here isn't that bad (unless it's from asia).

Edit: didn't meant to pick on you, just so where clear about that :)

And this is not anymore about the CPU pin. And i don't want to spam multiple threads;

I can't find any manual about how to use the CR4 dip switches and caps. Only a general guide that "00100001 should work". Not about what the different dip settings represent, or in whick order to test them little by little.
Any guide for that?

The official guide on this forum details the DIP's (numbered and not boolean)

Sorry, re-read your post, the dips change the shape of the reset pulse. The older threads detail it a bit better (but the dips/centres differ) the concept is the same.

Just copied from Cr3Pro guide for reference!!!

First you need to find your center:

IMPORTANT NOTE: When testing each cycle make sure you hook everything back up to the case (ODD, HDD, WIFI etc). If you dont do this your tuning will be wasted as when you hook everything back up it changes the shape of the pulse. Take your time and do it right and you will get a super fast booting RGH console

1. For the first initial test ensure all DIPS OFF
2. Don't install any ceramic caps yet. Set DIP 3 on and test.
3. If it's close to optimal (what we call your center result) a RATER score of 7 or 8 will be expected (set number of reboots to 20 to get a good solid median)
4. If not set DIP 4 and test...
5. If not set DIP 5 and test...
6. and so on with DIPS 6 then 1 and 2...
7. We're basically circling out from what we know is optimum.

So let's say you landed on DIP 4 as your center you will now want to tune up......

1. Add a ceramic cap to C10 with 1 DIP on (note a 1 cap per DIP cannot be higher than 50pf - anything higher will absorb the pulse)

2. So start with a 10pf cap and test. Then 22pf then 30pf then 47pf
3. You should now be getting a score of > 8.5
4. Sometimes you may need to tweak even further than just 1 DIP and use a combo. So for example if you found DIP 3 and DIP 4 to be the same you can try 3.5. We achieve this be setting DIP 2 & 3 on with a large ceramic cap to delay and absorb the pulse (so 2 DIPS and a large cap equals 1.5 pulse time)
5. So to achieve 3.5 set DIPS 2 & 3 on and test with caps 68pf, 82pf and 100pf.

Okay. There is no CR4 specific guide. I have seen those other chip guides but ignored them, just because i did'nt know if they are comparable.
I would be easier if i started modding earlier in the scene. But well, i'll get the hang of it. :)

I got the Corona to decent boot times yesterday. It boots every time between 5-10 seconds.
I'll follow the guides on my next mods.

And by the way, do you know what is the thing that when i modded a Corona V2 before, with same setup, CR4, every time it attempts to boot, it makes high pitch sound. Sounds like there is a micro-sized engine cranking.
And with this latest console, there is no sound at all.

Some fans make that noise when the console is being slowed down - nothing you've done.

It's making that when the fan is actually accelerating. But yea, it's the fan. I thought it may be some coil or the buzzer.

So what DIP settings did you end up going with?
I'm wondering if I have a corona that won't boot with the initial 3&8 what options I have.
From what Oggy posted above it looks like it can be 8 plus any of 1,2,4,5 or 6, same as CR3 pro.
I did NOT get that at all from reading the CR4 guide.
