Has anyone come across this problem. I modded a 1.6, when I connected the power cord it automatically boots to the x3 bios, the only way to shut off the box then is to pull the power cord back out. Also if hold down the power button while I insert the power cord it will disable the chip. The back up bios seems to work fine. :shock:

seriously though, check your reset/eject adapter, for a start try removing (unplug it from the X3 and plug the yellow cable from the front power button panel back into the main board), and see if that stops the xbox from booting up when you plug it in.
If so check that the reset/eject adapter isn't shorting against the xbox chassis, make sure there isn't any wire/solder poking through the sticky foam bit. Also check for any solder bridges on the reset/eject adapter.

I noticed this a couple of months ago
I have 3 xbox 360's
1st is a samsung that i modded myself with 1.6 and was banned during the bann wave
2nd is a benq lite on that i bought to mod with LT but have not gotten around to doing it
3rd is a Hitachi that was sitting in a friends closet for years because it stoped playing discs
i opened the Hitachi up and noticed it just was not spinning the discs because it needed to be cleaned and i took it apart and added some cooking oil inside the motor bearings
i got it to play the games again and i was happy
just to make sure it was never modded i tried to play a back up copy
strangely it played them and it even played a back up of the game darksiders a wave 4 game that my samsung 1.6 wont play without my boot disc
so the first thing i thought is that my friend did not buy it new from store years ago like he told me he had
so i called him and he told me that he did buy it from store and then it broke and it has sat in his closet for years since
i didnt know if i believed him
but i do know he had metioned it years ago
what makes me believed this 360 has never been modded is that i plays all 360 games and all back up copies wave 4 or what ever
now to play wave 4 this 360 would have been modded not to long ago
there is no way it was modded recently and i dont think it was ever modded at all for that reason
he gave it to me without the power or video cables because he couldnt locate them he thought they may have been thrown away
i have know this guy for almost 20 years
the sticker on the back says it was made september 5th 2007
maybe a lot of you guys know about old never modded Hitachi's playing back ups or maybe no one believs me
either way i feel like i have something special
a umodded 360 that plays all back ups and will never be banned and will never need to be modded
and i feel sure enought about this to sell my other 2 360's and only keep this very special Hitachi 360

and i only know how to read and write to samsung so im not gonna try to read it
even if i learned how to do hitachi's i still would never touch this hitachi with a computer
because i know even if it was flashed 3 years ago i know personally it sat in a closet for 3 years and doesnt that mean it should not play wave 4

i know he sent it back to microsoft twice and it kept breaking and microsoft told him it was out of warranty
maybe microsoft gave him back the wrong one
but i know he could not have modded it and he never knew any modders or let any one borrow it
the only way that this was modded it would have to be microsoft sent him back the wrong 360

i dont know if you are saying very old firmware made by microsoft or made by the hackers
so i stilll dont know if you are saying its possible its never been modded
i really think it has never been modded and its highly unlikely that microsoft replaced his 360 with a flashed one
i think it has old firmware made by microsoft that most 360 do not have
and i am very lucky to have it for this reason

im talking about playing 360 iso from hard drive for free
this cant be done at a playable speed because of the 360 not because of the hard drive
i have not been checking up lately on the 360 playing games through usb but last i heard is that they found a way around the game disc in tray security check but it was pointless because the 360 plays games from usb to slowly

wow you can soder and get home brew on the 360
ive seen video of people playing old games from older systems
i seen a video of someone starting assassins creed for the 360 but still did not see it play long enought to watch game play speed
can you verify that the 360 can play 360 games from usb hard drive fast enough to play
im gonna keep searching and if its possible im gonna do it and sell them

I see its possible but you have to have a 360 with the correct kernal
or maybe they will find a way to do it on any 360 soon
