Power/Eject adapter won't let me power off

I have a 1.6 XBOX with the X3CE. I finally have all my LEDs lighted but the front panel switch always boots RED. When the X3 is connected to the power/eject adapter with the supplied cable, I can't power down the XBOX unless I remove the cable. If I plug the cable back in, the XBOX will boot without me pressing the power button and I can't turn it off unless I unplug the cable again. I can get the front panel to light purple but the screen is black. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

I can get the chip to work if I press the power and eject button at the same time and plug the red power/eject button all together simultaneously. But the only way to turn off the XBOX is to unplug the red cable from the power/eject adapter. That won't be possible with the XBOX put back together. I know my soldering is ok because I can get to the FlashBIOS screen. I just don't know how to get the system to shut off without unplugging the cable. Please Help, anybody!

the exact same thing happened to me.

i am going to assume that you are using the LPC Rebuild Kit (the small purple chip that came with the X3CE).
There is a flaw on the LPC Rebuild Kit, for some reason there are solder pads on both sides of the chip and if you put too much solder it will cross and slowly fry your xbox.

My advice is to:
1. uninstall the X3CE componets.
2. put you broken xbox back together and sell it on e-bay.
3. use the money from your broken xbox to buy a new xbox.
4. reinstall the X3CE using as little solder as posible and instead of using the LPC Rebuild Kit, do a manual wire LPC rebuild using as little solder as possible.

or at least, that's what worked for me

Just try removing the power/eject PCB (the little one) from the shielding and try power up. If this works this means there is abit of solder sticking through the sticky pad. All you have to do is put some electrical tape over the shielding.
