I've got a broken xbox slim with a power issue i think.
When i push the power button the xbox turn on and within a second it turns off.
I opend the box and took the mb out.
I hear the beep when i turn the box on and a buzzing sound near the power connector. Like a short. The light on the powerblock turn on green but after the buzzing orange again. Not red.
Someone a idea?

If it is buzzing and sounds like a short then listen to it and look for a short.
This is a TX products support forum not Microsoft support forum.

These Slims, they have just as many problems as the phats.

I mean the red light on the phats is mainly due to BGA related issues, simple fix, but slims, another story.

I have repaired so many phat xbox 360 red ring issues, like 99% of the time (regardless of error code) its the GPU that needs a reflow or reball.

The slim, different story, only 10% of the time I see its a BGA issue. (reflow or reball). Its usually a cheap component on the board that failed, with hundreds of them, diagnosis is usually worth more than the console itself, thus not worth repairing in most cases. I best most of the time on slims its a cheap (usually less than $1) component that has failed. Figuring which is the cost and usually not worth it.

I've never seen a slim xbox 360 buzz before though, only seen than on phats.

I have a few slim motherboards I can spare parts, but I'd like to be part of the "team" as far as that goes, I can provide parts, I have several motherboards in my possession I can take parts from.

These slims are like xbox one and ps4 as I have had a few of those in my shop and have successfully repaired a PS4 for the Blue light of death and I know that its all the same thing at the end of the day.
