Power on (quick tap of power) and xbox boots normaly

Hello everyone, the wife is asleep, so here goes....

I had problems earlier with orange flashing, but that was just a wiring issues. all soldering was fine...Now, part two of my situation:

This is my exact situation: taken from a sticky:

Power on (quick tap of power) and xbox boots normaly (mod seems disabled)
-- d0 is not making a connection. d0 is used to tell the xbox where to boot the bios from. If the d0 signal rises then the xbox boots normally. If d0 becomes grounded the xbox boots from the LPC (where the mod chip is hooked up)

My D0 appears to be well soldered. Yes, I am a n00b, however there is plenty of solder (although not too much)

Quick question:
Can someone please tell me how to check D0 to ground? I do not want to desolder and start over. I think it would be best to check with a multimeter first.

Do I probe the D0 and the chasis? Since this is double sided board, I am not quite sure where the correct ground would be (if in fact I would probe to ground).

Any tips/advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for you help guys. Great forum.

peace.

I am having exactly the same problem described here. In my case the X is red.

According to your troubleshooting info this means that I haven't soldered D0 correctly.

BUT, I have soldered it three times and still the same result.

What troubleshooting can be done?

many thanks for your help.

if the external switch is blue on a quick tap and you still boot to retail bios your d0 is indeed bad. if it is red you need a quicker tap.

Can't get jungleflasher to auto load bins

Hello everyone, I'm semi new to this, I have flashed a few drives, but am having problem with a Hitachi. After using jungle flasher a few times, I have never been able to get it to auto load new bins. I would just manually load them, but I'm trying to flash the Hitachi, I see the bin in the jungle flasher firmware file, but can't get it to load. Any help would be greatly welcomed.

Re: Can't get jungleflasher to auto load bins

yuo have to put the .bin files in the folder for firmware in jungle flasher where it says put firmware here. Dont put file folders in there otherwise it wont autoload. SO, open the hitachi folder select all bin files, right click and copy, the open the JF firm folder then paste, done.

But the stock bin that need is already in the jungleflasher firmware, when I open up the folder that says place firmware here, I open it up and it's in the folder already. Is there another step I'm missing?

Are you using j/f version 183 I heard 182 had issues...is the file you are seeking in a folder?

I was having problems getting jungleflasher to flash back to original firmware for the hitachi. I used firmware toolkit with no problems.

and your sure the .bin is not in a folder? because if it's in a folder it won't load.

Re: Can't get jungleflasher to auto load bins

no that particular bin was preload in the jungleflasher file that says Place firmware here, along with the other preloaded bins, i didn't change anything. I tried looking on autoxbins for the bin, but could not find it before it went down

Re: Can't get jungleflasher to auto load bins

Thanks guys for the help I just found out the file that I was looking at was checksum files, not bins. I need to find the actual Hitachi stock bin. After I found it do I copy and paste that bin in the same location as the checksum file or the box before it were it say place firmware here. Thanks for the help, I'm as green as grass! lol
