Can i use my xbox 360 for a power supply for my XE360USBPRO v2? I didnt know i needed a 12v powersupply, the only way to get one is to order it online and wait 4 days till it gets here... yes im a noob.
no, you could use a molex connector from inside your PC, with the supplied molex to sata converter
so you are getting one of these,, i'd suggest not to get it off ebay, as so many of them are faulty,, cheap yes, but faulty... uncontrolled power surges
You can use a molex power supply I suggest going through a place like xconsoles or equivalent to get it you could also splice the supplied adapter with and spare USB cable so you can flash drives in the mean time.. (all except hitachi) you won't be able to open the drive, read a dvdor anything but you can still have fun.
I cut all 4 wires, and spliced in the USB, red and black go with red and black yellow and black next to the yellow can stay untouched, however spout them down slightly so everything was the same length..

thanks for the replies! I actually had a old pc upstairs that didnt work. I opened it up, chopped out a molex connector. Spliced and solderd the wires into a spare USB and connected to the molex to the XE360USBPRO V2. Worked well. I was able to flash my drive! Thanks so much. Weds the 12v powersupply should be here. So for future uses I will use that!! THANKS AGAIN!
